🖼️ Frame Control: Natural human competition for social and narrative dominance
How to win the Frame Battle (and how to not lose the Frame Battle) Mehdi Hasan was accusing Jiang of being antisemitic for talking about Pax Judaica, this is a frame battle. Mehdi's frame: You are antisemitic because
Definition of "Frame": A frame is the lens through which a person interprets reality, defining what matters, who has power, and the rules of engagement.
What is a Frame Battle?
A frame battle is a psychological or social interaction where two people (or more) vie to establish their own perspective, definition of reality, or "frame" as the dominant one in a conversation, meeting, or relationship. The person who holds their frame longest generally wins, determining the rules, values, and power dynamics of the interaction.
Key aspects of frame battles include:
- Frame Control/Reframing: This involves not accepting someone else's definition of a situation, and instead replacing it with your own.
- Dynamics: If you accept someone’s frame, you play by their rules; failing to hold your own frame often results in feeling confused or submissive.
- Application: Commonly discussed in negotiation, sales, and dating, where one party attempts to make the other defend their actions.
> NEVER EXPLAIN YOURSELF. YOUR FRIENDS DON'T NEED IT AND YOUR ENEMIES WON'T BELIeve IT.
I like the idea and the general sentiment behind this phrase, but On a real note its not that simple.
You must make people fall into your frame always, mainly your closest people, but never talk or persuade people out of reactiveness, as if trying to defend yourself from accusations. Dont say "Im not x". Say "Im y" Talk in affirmatives.
What makes your closest people close to you in the first place is that they are the ones that have the less objections to your frame.

How to win the Frame Battle (and how to not lose the Frame Battle)
Mehdi Hasan was accusing Jiang of being antisemitic for talking about Pax Judaica, this is a frame battle.
Mehdi's frame: You are antisemitic because you say js are plotting to conquer the world.
How should Jiang react to this? Lets explore the wrong and the right way to go about it.
❌ "guys i swear im not antisemitic please im saying the truth" = sounds desperate for acceptance, reactive, already lost the frame battle, in the subconcious mind of the listener ur associating yourself with the thing you are trying to distance urself from.
Why?
1. The reptilian brain sees emotional reactiveness or desperation as something to be suspicious of because the brain, has learnt based on past experiences that when people lie they overreact and have visible bodily reactions to being exposed. (shaking, sweating, increased heartbeat, ticks, scratching....) and the brain is always trying to predict the future based on what it has learnt in the past.
- We know that having phisiological reactions to an accusation doesnt necessarily imply the accusation is true. But the subconcious mind operates based on learned patterns. Yes, the subconcious mind judges the book by its cover.
- The subconcious mind heard the keywords "Im" "antisemitic" in the same phrase and the neural pathways in the brain of the listener attaches attaches that person to the accusation
Here's a better way to fight Mehdi's frame:
✅ "I will tell you what I am: someone that is aware of the religious motivations behind political movements" = doesnt fall into the enemies' frame, establishes what you are on your own terms
Frame Battles compose the underlying structure of human nature and human competition/psychology and social dynamics. Just like the Spiritual Battle is an underlying reality of politics (and politics the product of human nature and competition)
We could say pretty much all human interactions are Frame Battles.
F : <@1005120995641786471> How would you analyse jiang's response to mehdi in that interview? Would you respond it that way if mehdi made such accusations against you?
<@1005120995641786471> How would you analyse jiang's response to mehdi in that interview? Would you respond it that way if mehdi made such accusations against you? (edited) P : the thing is we the people that have been talking about "pax judaica", and about the crimes of zionism and their influence on the US have been called "antisemites" so many times before that we dont really take it seriously anymore. I do understand why people that arent as used to hearing such an accusation might feel the way you feel though. But its really just their goofy defense mechanism its not serious. Thats why someone mentioned that the other day and I just said:
"Jiang is right and that's what matters."
If they disagree with him they can always pick his arguments and prove how he is wrong, but they resort to name calling and disqualifying like that

I think that's why many people are skeptical of pax judaica as a theory & associate it as an antisemitic term. I mean for us who have been following jiang for quite awhile, understood his theories & political views, we know pax judaica has nothing to do with judaism as a faith, but more of judaism as a political ideology for Zionists to carve its own AI surveillance empire in the middle east under the greater Israel project.
As someone who were deep into political islam readings in the 00s & 10s, I also understood Islam in that context meant Islam as a political ideology for radical groups.
Prof Jiang controls the frame by telling his student to be clear about the language. He didnt accept the frame that misinterpreted his views.

Frame Battles can be agressive at times. But it is very important for everyone to learn and master the skill of Frame Control. Since it is, if you ask me, the MOST important skill that you can possibly acquire in life.
Frame Control is the way you portray yourself, and its the way you defend that portrait.
Its the way you communicate what you want. Its the way you stand up for yourself. Its the way you justify your actions and beliefs.
Its the way you dont become someone else's doormat.
I believe Frame Control is also the way you deal with "the shadow".
What is the Shadow, according to pshychologist Carl Jung
In Jungian psychology, the shadow is the unconscious, repressed, and hidden side of a person's personality containing qualities deemed undesirable, such as negative instincts, weaknesses, or suppressed creative impulses. It represents the "dark side" of the self, often projected onto others as judgment.
Key Aspects of the Jungian Shadow:
- Repressed Contents: The shadow consists of traits, desires, and experiences that a person refuses to acknowledge or deems socially unacceptable.
- Not Solely Negative: While often dark, it can contain positive traits like creativity or passion that were suppressed in youth.
- Projection: People often project their shadow onto others, leading to harsh judgments, envy, or hypocrisy (e.g., hating gossips while being one).
- The Goal of Integration: The aim is not to eliminate the shadow, but to bring it into awareness—a process called "shadow work"—to become a more complete, integrated, and authentic person.
- Manifestation: It often manifests as anger, strong emotional triggers, and impulsive, irrational behavior.
Ignoring the shadow makes it stronger, potentially leading it to dominate the conscious ego.

How to Tame your Shadow using concious Frame Control
So first of all, I'd like to point out that some people have a very strong Frame, this can be caused by a number of reasons that we can explore, like for example having a Winner Effect, that is, a positive reinforcement loop.
1. I win
2. which makes me feel awesome, so:
(repeat 1) I win again,
and so forth.
> The Winner Effect is a psychological and biological phenomenon where previous victories increase the likelihood of winning future competitions. It creates a self-reinforcing "flywheel" where small wins boost testosterone and dopamine, enhancing confidence, focus, and performance, which in turn leads to more success and higher risks taken.
People with Winner Effect are more confident, aware, creative, funny, outgoing, lively.
People with a Negative Reinforcement Loop, or what we could call "Looser Effect", are the exact opposite.
Why is that?
The energies of winning are energies that elevate
And the energies of losing are belittling
If the brain starts to identify with that experience, then it will expect more of that experience in the future.
"I lost, so Im a loser, which means I will keep on losing in the future"
This is why it is important to always identify with the best parts of yourself, and not with the worst ones. Never loop on negative experiences, rather loop on good ones.
Do you have a tendency to hyperfocus on the negative? Thats extremely toxic for your soul.
Once the brain is convinced that it will lose in the future, the body tenses up, doubts arise at every moment, which difficults expression, jokes, conversation, social conexion, fear takes over, stifledness.
In evolutionary psychology it is said that the body sumerges in this state in order to protect itself from attackers, the body senses danger and it freezes in order to discourage you (you are a soul) from making something stupid and getting the body killed.
The way to break free from the fight/flight/freeze/fawn state is to socialize, making connections with everyone at a party for example. Breaks this spell, once the brain understands it is safe it opens the gates for creativity, confidence, extroversion, or the ability to control the frame.
> Fight, flight, freeze, and fawn are the body's4️⃣ automatic, nervous system-driven survival responses to perceived threats or danger. Fight confronts danger, flight escapes it, freeze immobilizes in fear, and fawn seeks safety by appeasing others. These behaviors are subconscious, often linked to past trauma or childhood, and are not signs of weakness.
>
> Detailed Breakdown of the 4 Responses:
> **Fight **(Aggression/Resistance): When facing danger, the brain triggers a need to control, attack, or fight back to remove the threat. It manifests as defensiveness, anger, or taking charge.
> Flight (Avoidance/Escaping): This involves escaping danger by running away or withdrawing. Physically, this looks like fleeing; emotionally, it looks like avoiding conflict, leaving situations, or leaving relationships when they get difficult.
> Freeze (Immobilization): When fight/flight isn't possible, the body shuts down, becoming still, numb, or paralyzed. It is often described as feeling "stuck," "trapped," or unable to make decisions.
> Fawn (Appeasement/Compliance): A, often subconscious, attempt to manage danger by pleasing others to avoid conflict. This manifests as codependency, people-pleasing, neglecting one's own needs, or having weak boundaries.
Knowing mehdi, he would still push the idea that pax judaica is a far right white supremacist ideology, not rooted in any academic scholarship.

It does have to do with the religion though
Encaminhado: <@1005120995641786471> can you do a deep framing analysis here? give us some example from the video,
why u think Jiang is good/bad at which example. Thanks
